This image started out as a graphite drawing which can be seen <a href="http://www.brigidashwood.com/Mineral_Deposits/">here</a> I knew as soon as I finished it I wanted to do a full color painting. It's very personal to me and was drawn over the course of two weeks in which my husband and I were in Texas assisting in the care of his terminally ill mother. She died of complications from emphysema - so the symbolize on this piece is rather poignant. I didn't realize what exactly I had drawn till after the fact of course. She is terribly missed.
